Ben Reoch Cottage at Loch Lomond


The cottage is only 40mins drive from Glasgow airport and can also be accessed by train from Glasgow.  It is only a few minutes’ walk to Loch Lomond.  In the other direction, it is approximately 1 mile to Arrochar where you can find local shops & restaurants.

Tarbet is ideally situated for exploring the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park.  Loch cruises can be taken from Tarbet Pier.  Firkin Point is an excellent location to explore the Loch side and perfect for children on bikes.  Loch Lomond Shore has beautiful shops and cafes as well as the Sea Life Aquarium, while nearby Balloch Country park is ideal for a relaxing walk and also has an excellent children’s play park.  More experienced walkers or cyclists will find lots of walks in and around the Tarbet area.  The West Highland Way is only a short drive from the cottage.

Only 30 minutes drive is Inverary Castle and Inverary Jail, perfect for young and old.  On route you will find the original Loch Fyne Oyster Bar serving the freshest fish straight from Loch Fyne.

Swimming, ice skating, soft play and children’s activities can be found at Drimsynie Estate.  Argyll Adventure by Inverary also provides horse riding, climbing, bungee and paintball.

The beautiful seaside town of Helensburgh is only a short drive, while the stunning scenery of the Highlands and Glen Coe can be reached within 1 hours drive of the cottage

Clan MacFarlane – opposite the cottage is the ancient burial ground where several of the clan chiefs lie.

In addition, the cottage is a very short walk from Tarbet and Arrochar train station, where the west coast service provides one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world from Glasgow to Malaig, crossing the Glenfinnan viaduct (featured in Harry Potter).
